Welcome to Haus des Meeres – Aqua Terra Zoo Vienna
On display at the Haus des Meeres are more than 6,000 animals. In the terrarium department, you will see crocodiles, venomous and giant snakes, as well as lizards. The Haus des Meeres is over 3500 m2 in area.
The focal point of the tropical saltwater department are large aquariums with shark, a sea turtle, numerous corals and colorful fish. The biggest attraction in the tropical fresh-water department are the infamous piranhas. Undisputed highlights are the tropical house and the crok park, with free-flying birds and monkeys running around.
The Mediterranean department offers an overview of the wealth of creatures that live in this sea, including anemone, snakes, mussels, shrimp, sea urchins, starfish and fish.
You can visit the Haus des Meeres daily from 9 until 6; Thursday from 9am-9pm, located in Esterhazypark in Vienna's 6th District.
