The Belvedere is a palace complex located in the heart of Vienna.
Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663-1736), successful general and art connoisseur, had Belvedere palace and gardens built by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt as his summer residence .
The palace, with its broad grounds, is one of the world's most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture. The Marble Hall of the Upper Belvedere has been the venue for illustrious occasions and affords incomparable views out over the city of Vienna.
