Professional, competent and
charming service à la Tyrol
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do". Now, this saying can be applied to Vienna. Whenever it is rainy, we Viennese love to shopping or out to eat. So, when you visit Vienna, you'll probably want to do the same. We definitely recommend it!
The large, covered shopping malls such as "Steffl" or the "Ringstraßengalerien" on the Kärntner Straße are certainly worth visiting. Here, there are many different stores under one roof. "Gerngross" is also right by our hotel on the Mariahilfer Straße. Not covered but especially luxurious: Vienna's most exclusive shopping area awaits you. Take a stroll in the Golden Quarter through the flagship stores of international designer labels and experience luxurious shopping in a historic ambiance.
We recommend a cozy coffee house when you are ready to take a break. Vienna is famous worldwide for its pastries, and a cup of hot "melange" is almost a heavenly pleasure.
Or are you in the mood for traditional Viennese treats? You simply have to try Tafelspitz, Kaiserschmarren pancakes, or Wiener Schnitzel. You will find our best local tips under the section "Wining and Dining".
If you are interested in culture, Vienna has plenty to choose from. in the 1920s, Karl Kraus wrote: "The streets of Vienna are paved with culture. The streets of other cities with asphalt." Museums, galleries, exhibits – the possibilities are seemingly limitless. You will find more info under Information about Vienna. And we are especially fond of the Museumsquartier. Not only because it is located right next to us, but also because numerous museums can be found right next to one another: Architekturzentrum Wien, Kunsthalle Wien, Leopold Museum, MUMOK, ZOOM Children's Museum, and quartier21. You can walk from one cultural highlight to the next without getting wet.
